Summary of issues discussed:

·         Election of officers: Rhun ap Iorwerth is re-elected as chair of the group and Lynne Kelly of Haemophilia Wales is re-elected as the group’s secretariat.  Full details of the proceedings of the Annual General Meeting are available in the meeting’s minutes on the Senedd Cymru website.

·         Lynne Kelly gives update to the group on the release of the final report and the amendments brought about to the Victims and Prisoners Bill that were currently being discussed in the House of Lords.  Lynne also shares some of her concerns about the lack of a timetable and coherent plan to establish an arms-length body to administer the compensation

·         Michael Imperato gives an update from the legal side of things in which he expresses concerns that compensation will be paid to victims across the UK in the same way, and that more clarity is needed on whether the commission is recommending establishing a UK-wide compensatory body.  He also raises concerns about how the UK Government seem to be dragging their feet at every stage of the process, meaning more victims and their families are dying without receiving the justice and compensation they deserve.

·         Rhun ap Iorwerth MS opens the meeting up to questions/comments.

·         Jodie questions whether the process will be delayed until after the general election

·         Norman expresses concerns about the UK Government’s dithering on the issue

·         Anthony discusses the Welsh NHS’ official position on the matter

·         Bev and Sue raise the topic of giving victims a platform and raising awareness of the scandal

2.   Professional lobbyists, voluntary organisations and charities with whom the Group has met during the preceding year.
